CCMS commissions mostly from photo reference, though other options are available: please inquire!
Most commissions have a wait period of about two weeks, though rush options are available at extra costs. There is an option to have the work finished within two days, or rush for next-day readiness.
How it works:
First, you send the reference photo. The photo should be in decent quality (in focus, large, and showcasing what you want out of my artwork) though blurry sections and other problems can be worked past. For the best results, it is preferable to not have these issues.
When you send the photo, you should also send details such as changes, ideas, and a basic overview of what you want. Picture manipulation is available; if you want a specific picture, but your photo does not exactly reflect it (ie, a pet portrait of a dog in a show stance from a photo of the dog sitting down) the finished piece can reflect these changes.
Please note that this is subject to extra cost.
Backgrounds can be changed or eliminated, features can be changed or added, and it is possible to work in sharper detail from a previously blurred photograph.
Once the details are discussed, you could potentially receive a quick concept sketch if the work is different from the photo, or if there is no reference photo (in the case of personal designs or character designs, for example). Once you receive your concept sketch and confirm that it is how you want it, the real work begins! You will be sent photos once an outline is complete, and then small chunks of progress photos as they're completed.
Example Commission:
The following is a cutting horse commission from summer 2010, 9x11inch graphite portrait. Note that there is more in the drawing than in the picture, and the background has been changed on request of the commissioner.

Extra detail was added in features such as clothing and I upped the contrast in order to display the image better.
Due to the layout of the commission and limits of the size of paper, the subjects ended up being not very large. Despite this, I was still able to fit a large amount of detail into a small space, and added to it by exaggerating some contrasts. The end result received 100% excellent feedback, and I was almost immediately given more commission work from the same family.
